Visited by the Spaniards

On Thursday 12th July 2001 a number of youths together with their leaders visited our centre in Zurrieq. They came from Catalonia Spain and were taking part in a youth exchange programme with ZAK Ibragg. We gave this group a very warm welcome and they were treated to an evening of pure enjoyment and fun

First, the group was split in two together with the ZAK Zurrieq members for some ice-breaking games, so as everyone gets to know something about the others. Then a  short humorous sketch followed. This sketch was a twisted version of Titanic, Zorro and Baywatch mixed in a humorous cocktail of laughs. One can get a better idea of the plot from the following photos.

By the end of the sketch everybody started to feel hungry so we treated everybody to some typical Maltese food. Unfortunately the time flew by very fast and by the time everyone had eaten it was time for the Spaniards to leave our centre.

This was a very good experience, especially for those who are going to attend the Eurocontact this year as it was the first time that a group of foreigners which were of our age visited the centre.

Some of the youths intently watching the sketch in the centre’s yard. Because of the large number of people present (around 60), nobody was treated to chairs and cushions, the cold bare floor had to do.
